Learn how to manage license details
You can view, update, and manage License Details in AssetLoom via:

Inline Editing from the License List
Use inline editing when you need to update information directly from the License List without opening the license record.
Some data fields, such as Category, Manufacturer, Supplier, Department, Location, and Inventory, let you type to create new data, even during inline editing of license information.
If the value you want does not yet exist in AssetLoom, simply:
- Click the field.
- Type the new value.
- Select Create.
The new value will be added and selected immediately.
The License Details Screen
The License Details screen allows you to review full information or manage related records.
Accessing the License Details
You can open the screen in two ways:
- Click the license name from the license list.
Click the Expand/Collapse button at the top of the panel to open a larger/smaller dialog view.
- Click the three dots in the Actions column, then select Edit.

Use Tabs in the License Details Screen
The License Details screen allows you to view and manage complete information for a selected license, organizing it into different tabs.
General
The General tab contains the main license information and is the primary place for reviewing or updating details. It may include License details (name, seats, serial, category, inventory, manufacturers), purchase details, depreciation details, other details, and custom fields. 
Assignments
The Assignments tab displays all currently checked-out quantities of the license. Licenses can be checked out to either a user or an asset, allowing you to track licenses assigned directly to employees or linked to specific assets such as laptops, desktops, etc.

The table includes the following information:
- Assigned To: Displays the user or asset currently assigned to the license.
- Checkout Type: Display the user or asset type selected for the license checkout
- Assigned Quantity: Shows the quantity of the license assigned.
- Checkout Date: Displays the date when the license was checked out.
- Checkout Notes: Shows any notes or remarks added during checkout, such as the purpose or usage details.
You can also click the “Check in” to quickly return the checked-out license quantity to inventory.
File
The File tab lets you:

- Upload and manage images for the license. Use it for product photos, condition checks, or visual identification.
- AssetLoom supports JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF images.
- Each image can be up to 10 MB, and each license can have up to 50 images.
- Stores files related to the licenses, such as invoices, warranty documents, manuals, and other supporting records.
- When uploading a file, you can assign an attachment type for the file. Available types may include Invoice, Warranty, Manual, Receipt, Contract, Certificate, Photo, and Other. You can also filter the attachment list by type to quickly find specific files.

- AssetLoom supports common file types such as PDF, Word, Excel, ZIP, and CSV. Each file can be up to 50 MB, and each license can have up to 100 attachments.
- When uploading a file, you can assign an attachment type for the file. Available types may include Invoice, Warranty, Manual, Receipt, Contract, Certificate, Photo, and Other. You can also filter the attachment list by type to quickly find specific files.
History
The History tab records actions taken on the license over time. This may include updates, check-in and check-out activity, assignments, restore/move to trash actions, and the log for upload, update & delete files. Use this tab when reviewing activity records or auditing changes.
